Are kits updated?
I just bought a kit from my LHS. I thinkit was a kit he bought from a friend a long while ago and just had laying around in the back of the shop. It's a House of Balsa 1/2 A P51D.
There are a couple of inserts that give a clue as to how old the kits is: A card for a 6 month subsription to RCM for $7.00 stating that the magazine has been running for almost 13 years, and a card anouncing the release of the BF109E for Sept 1976. These kits are still available; so the question is, would a new one be exactly the same as my 70's version or would it build completely differently? Should I build it or would it be worth more as a collectors item? |
RE: Are kits updated?
Saving a kit as a collector's item might be a waste of $$$$ - but I've been wrong before :)

RE: Are kits updated?
Apparantly, this general topic has been discussed before. The general concencus is that if a kit is out of production and was a good design and is sought after, then it could be worth lots.
As this kit is still available new, an older box doesn't have any additional value.... |
