Too much weight?
 

I just finished a GP Big Stik 60 ARF and put it on the balance machine. It looks like I am going to have to add nearly 8 ounces of weight to the tail. It is extremely nose heavy. There is not enough room to move the Rx and battery enough to make a difference. This seems like a lot of weight to add. Is this normal? Is this going to make it hard to fly (too heavy)? The engine is an Evolution 61 two stroke. Thanks.

Oh yea, and yes the fuel tank was empty when balanced.

What is the all up weight? If it is under 10 pounds, a 60 will fly it OK.

can you move the engine back on the mount? and move the servos and fule tank as much as possible, every little bit will help.

try to make any weight you add on be usefull weight. not dead weight.

Thanks Balsa Master. I did just that. I moved the engine as far back as possible but still had to put some lead in it's aft. I could have moved the battery but only a small amount, so I didn't bother. I flew it twice before it got dark. It flew great. The little extra weight wasn't even noticable. It didn't require any trim and inverted requierd very little elevator input. That CG machine is right on the money!

The Evo 61.....WOW what an engine. I do beleive I could have held the plane vertical and released it and it would have went up like a rocket.
