Four Star 40 question

I have a friend putting together a 4* arf. He is having trouble getting the wing on with the ailerons attacthed to the servos. Has anyone else had this trouble. Is it ok to bend the aileron bar levers to make it fit in.

Mount the Ailerons first, then link them to the servo. Also, I would post this in the ARF forum.
