Question on 3D Plane

For my next build, I want to build a plane whose stock control surfaces are capable of performing 3D maneuvers. I realize the CG as well as other parameters will have the be fooled with but as far as the built kit, I would like to be capable of 3D. I have a Saito 100 to put on it. I want to BUILD it versus buing a U-Can-Do like everyone else.

I was considering an Extra 300 from GP (60 size). But from what I have read, the control surfaces may need major design modification to handle some 3d manuevers... Anyone have any suggestions on a good 3D kit to build that will not require severe modifications.

I should add that minor changes do not bother me, and I am a mech. Engineer so reading plans is not a problem, buy designing a new Elevator and Rudder is not a task I have any experience doing.

RE: Question on 3D Plane

If your ok with a profile fuse the 65 inch OMP yak 54 would fly/3D very nice with your Saito 100.

RE: Question on 3D Plane

If the control surfaces are stick built, it is no problem to enlarge them. Just use your artistic skill and lay them out about 25% larger. There is no real magic. If the surfaces have die cut ribs, it's a little more difficult as the originall parts won't work.
