Aviomodelli Storch
I was wondering if anyone has experience building the Aviomodelli Storch. I recently got the kit (the full balsa kit, with balsa wings instead of foam), and it's definitely different. I've never seen planking using small strips, but I've only built 8 or 9 kits. Any input as to methods or things to look out for would be appreciated.

RE: Aviomodelli Storch
Hi, Jim. I'm interested in the Storch, and I'm wondering if you finished yours?

RE: Aviomodelli Storch
sounds like you have one of the complicated kits. I would suggest that you put it aside for awhile and practice on using thin balsa strips on somethings else. it takes quite a bit of practice and steady fingers. don't mess up a good kit till you get some more experience. been there too many times. dick

RE: Aviomodelli Storch
Be prepared to buil and build and build and ..... It will seem like you will never finish this kit.
On the plus side everything is numbered in the order that you assemble it and the pieces are well marked. I believe the built up wing is a flat bottom airfoil and the foam wing has an undercamber to it. You need to plan ahead on where you will mount your servos either in the kit mount with long pushrods or move the servos closer to the control surfaces. Also what are you going to use for a motor 2C, 4C or electric ? Good luck - it makes for a nice plane. Dave700 |
