Sorrell SNS Hyperbipe Kit?

It may have been ugly but it was one heck of a performer setting many aerobatic records, 1970's Sorrell Hyperbipe. It utilized a lifting body, and stagger-wing. If anyone is unfamiliar with this plane there is a great picture of a 1/3rd scale in the April 2004 Model Aviation Mag. see page 133

My Father was months away from buying the Full Scale home built kit way back when. He built a 1400' square foot shop and everything specifically for this project - then - they went out of business. Now a Days, the founder's son's are now looking to begin selling this homebuilt kit again but it no longer has that same 1970's price tag...

Where this is all going: He is learning to fly RC now, I would love to buy him a kit for Father's Day (I know he has room to built the thing in that shop). I haven't seen any kits of this plane though, does anyone know of one? How about kit plans? I would think no smaller that a 40 size maybe all the way up to a gasser. Any information would be great.

Thank You!

A fantastic airplane, I have been looking for an unfinished kit for years. Now the bad news I have never seen a model kit for the Hiperbipe.

linclogs, don't be stingy, give up the kit info to the whole public. Some of us casual viewers might be interested too.

It's a Master Kit from the early 70's

We had a member build this plane back in the early 80's. I am unsure of the kit though. I do remember it did not fly very good. It needed a lot of rudder in the turns as the adverse yaw was extremely bad. If you banked the wings left for a turn it would actually turn sharp to the right and vise versa. Much worse than a full scale would...
I am not sure what the total fix was, I do know the vertical fin kept on growing to counter act this.

The plane did look nice though.

Good luck with the hunting.
