Kit Bashing

I am just getting back into the hobby after a few years away. Just started building my first kit in about 8 years. I am bashing an Astro Hog into a PT-19, I have bashed a few other kits, a Super Sportster 60 into a PT-19 and a Telemaster 40 into a twin. They were all fun projects, wish I had pictures, what have been some of your favorite conversions? It's great to have balsa dust in the garage again!!!!

hahaha. I thought you were going to say a telemaster into a PT 19 too. hahahah.

I did a kaos into a twin in jan. Pretty cool bird. Gotta hang the engines and fly it.

Sig 4-Stars can be bashed into almost any low wing plane. I did 2 4*60s into Kawasaki Tonys.

My buddy build a Macchi MC72 seaplane racer from a 4*40. The fuselage was widened and the top is from a Sig Skybolt. Looks different, but it's heart is 4*.

Next is a Morane-Saulnier Type N built from a Balsa USA Eindecker kit. The Eindecker was copied from an earlier model Morane that was captured. Morane then added outer bulkheads and stringers to get the rounded shape.

Ed, your photos were great! That's what I was talking about. I love to look at a design and see what it can become. It's nice to have something that is different from what everyone else has. It's amazing what you can make a kit into....

Here's my current project for the winter. I'm bashing a 4*120 into an AirTractor 802-AF. Instead of a cropduster this is their version of a single engine slurry bomber for fighting forest fires. Mine has operational slurry bays and doors :D Don't know how it's going to work yet or what it will look like, but I'm getting closer. Another week or two on the wing and we should be ready to at least maiden it. The fuselage box is still pretty well stock up to the engine cheeks and I guess the wings are about stock except for tips I added. Everything else is pretty well scratch built so far, keeping fingers and toes crossed.

I've done a lot of looking and as far as I can tell this might be one of the first RC slurry bombers built[8D]

Welcome back to RC and building:):D:)
