GP PT-40 on floats?
 

Just wondering if it is possible (well, i guess its "possible" construction-wise, but if its a good idea) to add floats on a GP PT-40 mkII trainer airplane. Asking because at our holiday place at the sea there aint much grass strips for landing except in the sea (or "the fjords", as we say in Norway). The bay is pretty calm and you hardly get any high waves (except when the odd german tourist swoops by in their big cruisers [:@]).

Anyone done this to a PT 40?

It would be a great idea, BUT,

1 flying from water is a little trickier, so I hope you're past the basic stages.

2 you must have a boat (Or be prepared to go swimming). Seaplanes tend to stop at the most inopportune times

Yeah, im gonna wait untill im past the beginner stage and can fly it like it was second nature. Got a boat there standby, so its all ok. Just wondering if there are some extra problems involved in flying in saltwater compared to a freshwater? Do the salt have some additional bad effects on the wood? Just asking because I got a RC sailboat, and I have to be VERY carefull to get the hull cleaned afterwards to remove any salt since the salt eats up the plastic hull....
