RE: LT-40 Customization

Jim,,I'm glad you started a new thread for your pics, mine is getting too long. It did serve its purpose which was to collect ideas, but now I'm into the building/completion phase.

You did a nice job on the wing fairing, I didn't make mine quite as high and just flared it in with some hobby putty. I'm trying to take my time, but I'm really getting anxious to fly it. It was supposed to be a winter project, but it went fast (along with some sleep depravation).

I've got "Kadet Fever", just bought an LT-25, and have had brainstorms about a Senior with an FS70 on it. I over-power all my planes, have never regretted it.

Funny about "kadet fever"... having complete this, I now find myself thinking about building an ultra light Kadet Senior to create a real floater, and cover it with all transparent film to expose the stick framework.

I built the fairing using the technique described by CafeenMan, here:

As long as we're talking about customized Kadet LT's, I have to show you one belonging to a flying buddy, Ugo Ferrari, from Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Ugo's is an LT-25-I originally thought it was the LT-40, because it's pretty big and Ugo has a .42 in it.
-Tail dragger
-Bolt on wing
-Dihedral removed
-1 rib removed from each side
-Wing positive incidence removed using 2 popsicle sticks under the trailing edge
-Powered by Thunder Tiger .42GP.

This is a fine flying airplane. It doesn't have the outside loop capability of a Stick, but it does everything else.
