Thunderbug 120
1 Attachment(s)
Well, I got some work done on my Thunderbug 120. Its an old Kit from Balsa USA. I'm actually rebuilding it from plans that belonged to a deceased member of our flying club. But I still had some of the original parts so I'm calling it a kit.. The model originally had a tricycle landing gear system, which I have changed out of personal preferance to Lail-Dragger configuration. Here's where I'm at so far.

Thanks for sharing your project. I have one of those kits I bought when they discontinued the kit. I will follow your progress with interest.

RE: Thunderbug 120
The Thunderbug 120 is a great flying plane but there is one area of concern which you should be aware of. The tail section is very weak and can come apart in flight as mine did. If I were to build another, I would make the Stab. from solid balsa rather than built up as the plans show and add triangle stock where it joins the fuse. I would also add wire braces for additional support. The extra weight shouldn't be an issue as mine required several oz. of lead in the tail to balance it anyway. Good luck with your plane...............RS
