which part to build first..easy right.? NOT

hey guys,

i was just a little confused.
Im building the BURRITO profile plane which is a 40-46 sized 3d profile..

i always read people say...build the ruddes and stab first..
the instructions tell you to build the wing first then the fuse ...

this is my first kit..
dont you think i should start on something easy like the ruddes first?
instead of the wing ???

thanks alot cant wait to get started.

whatever rocks your world.lol

most, if not all the planes i've built... instructions starts with the
tail feathers, wing , then fuselage

i think it's to get you in the mood or warm you up to build.
or you'll have pratice working on the smaller sections.
in case you goof..you wouldn't need to replace a lot of parts.

it is best to always do inventory or sort the parts to sections
to be build..most kits give just enough wood.
also inspect the conditions of the parts.
grain going in the correct directions for certain parts.
unless you like making trips to lhs...worst no lhs within area
or crappy selections of balsa
measure twices cut onces.lol

working on one section at a time. helps a lot

i don't throw wood away until i'm done with the plane, now
the wood from laser cut panel and ect..
unless they where the scraps from carving or sanding.
i found myself diging in the trash for diahedral guage,
setup guage and other stuff.lol

however do read the instructions a couple of times before
you glue..

on some planes ..it'll say use the leftover piece from this
and put it on that.
i think one of the profile i've built was like that.

Hi on the burrito if I remember correctly you need to build the fuse sections before the H-stab and rudder. You need long sticks for the fuse and the cutoffs in the tail feathers.

When you start the wing pay careful attention to the center section parts assembly dry fit the W1 ribs and the spacer blocks. then make sure the CF tube and engine mount will slip through. Most need to add a 1/32nd piece of balsa spacer between the ribs for clearance.

And If you havent seen this thread on building the burrito check it out. [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_1170617/anchors_1170617/mpage_1/key_burrito/anchor/tm.htm#1170617]click me[/link]

after dozens of building planes I usually start with tail feathers.theres no rule that says you have to either.I usually have just because I feel I have made progress.but in the case of the profile it might be best to builsd the fuse though theres no hard and fast rule..just build and have fun and dont let the parts intimadate you..

Know how you feel, duh. if you havn't started yet, I would ask one of the local guys to help you walk thru the instructions, check out the wood- is it all there? have you got your misc tools, like glue, debonder, extra handfuls of straight pins, sand bags, coffee cup? how about your cutting board, etc. protective transparent cover, at least wax paper over the plans. all set --now start working on the fin/ ruder-- its the smallest part to replace. how does it look?? good, now go to stab and elevator..OK, now lets have a report. we will help walk thru the rest of the steps. dick

debonder is for CA...gets the fingers unstuck!:D If you are missing parts PM Paul Swanny and he will take care of it! PRONTO. I have to say this is the easyest building kit I have ever done!

One other thing, If you ask your Burrito questions over in the funfly or probro fourms you will get faster responces from the people that have built this bird.
