Sig Senior ARF
Closing in on the finish of this project. Dont't let the ARF thing go to your head, this is a big plane and there's still a lot of work to do. I'd been following the reviews and everyone seemed to have to add weight. I put a Magnum .91 in mine and I think it's going to balance perfectly with nothing added. I really like the aileron mounting system, Sig should sell this seperately as an accessory, mounting plate with a fairing for the push-rod, sweet! I built mine as a tail-dragger with a 4-star 1.20 landing gear and an Ohio Super Star tailwheel bracket. Used carbon fiber pushrods and a carbon fiber re-inforced cable for the tail-wheel. Maiden tuesday, if God is good!

Enjoy your Kadet, you will certainly love the way it flies. I did mine as a tail dragger as well with a pull-pull system, I have an OS 65LA for power. I had to add just a couple of ounces of weight in the nose, the OS hauls it around just fine at 1/2 throttle and below. The ground handling is excellent for a tail dragger and the slow speed flight is amazing, with a little wind it will almost hover.

RE: Sig Senior ARF
Let us know how it flies. I just picked up the red version of this plane. I haven't decided if I want to use glow or electric, and I may put it on floats.
That said, this thread really should be in the ARF forum...since its not a kit. |
RE: Sig Senior ARF
Finished putting the radio gear in today. Balanced with the receiver on the cabin floor and a 2X2 battery pack right behind the tank bulkhead. This with a Magnum .91! Learned to fly on a LT-40, this looks like it will fly similar, only better. Leaving the throws a little strong, may put in a little expo, but I don't expect it to be anything but a @#$%cat. Have a climb and glide meet coming up this week-end. With the .91 it ought to about get out of sight within the power-on phase.
