J-3 cub with plug in wings

Wanting to know what j-3 Cub kits have plug in wings. Looking to build one with either a YS 120 or YS 63. Would like to build one in the .63 size if possible with plug in wings. (Reason: transporting) Will also be mounting floats. Any recomendations?

Sig 1/5 J-3 Cub Kit has them. If you're looking for an ARF...I don't know which kit would have the plug-in wings.

Then check out the Sig Kit. I've seen a thread here in RCU comparing the Goldberg Anniversary Edition, the Sig 1/5th, and the Great Planes J-3, and the Sig is the generally preferred kit. That's why I chose it. Here's some links to check out.

My vote is for the 1/5 scale Sig Cub....

Do you think the YS63S will be big enough to fly the Sig off of water? I will be building my first float plane.

I think the YS63 is plenty strong enough. The YS63 is just as strong, if not stronger than the Saito 72, and maybe even the new Saito 82. I think I'd recommend you build the standard wing, not the clipped wing, version.

One more question-will the goldberg floats work (large enough?) on the full span 1/5 sig model?

RE: J-3 cub with plug in wings

The Ikon N'West 1/5 scale Cub has the equivalent of plug on wings. They actually bolt to the side of the cabin and the wing struts are 100% functional. A YS .63 would be plenty to get it off the water. A 1.20 would be serious overfill and would be able to hover the model.
