flaps

I'm new to rc and I was wondering why you would want a 6 channel radio besides having 2 aircraft on one radio. Are there ever extra servos used for flaps or dive brakes or anything like that?

thanks,
nutsch

Gear retracts, flaps/flaperons/spoilers, bomb drops, glider towing, and anything else you can think of that uses an extra servo for actuation. Use your imagination and have fun!:D

If you are talking about a computer radio then you can use it for dual rates, epa, exponetial, mixing, throttle cut, timers, several airplanes on one radio, heli mode, airplane mode, and sailing. Are you talking about the 6exa!

Take the advise, buy the best computer radio you can afford, my starter radio is a 6XAS from Futaba, lot's to pick from, like JR, Hitec and Airtronics, but you will kick yourself in the rear if you don't, if you decide to stay in the hobby, which is addicting, you'll have room for expansion. I got back into the hobby last year, and my radios memory is full, 6 plane memory and I'm building up my inventory, so I'm looking at another radio that will hold at least 10 models.
