Goldberg Chipmunk what engine?

Hello; I have quite a few engines from which to choose; Saito 65,80, or 100 twin or OS 70 surpass. Or I could take a Laser 100, a Saito 120 or 150 out of current planes. What would you use?

I have flown it with a bunch of 2s engines from a beat up ST .45 to a ST91. Of the engines you listed I would say to go with the Satio 80. The 1.20 is pretty haevy and will kill any kind of glide it would have with a small engine. The O.S. 70 is a litttle under powered for the Chipy.

I have an OS 61 on mine and it is plenty of power. The 80 I think would do a great job. Good Luck, Dave

I had one with a Saito 80 and it was underpowered. Switched to an OS 91 and it was perfect.

Should I expect to add mass in the tail if I use a TT .91 FS?

Hi,

I have a Suer Tigre 75 in mine and it has plenty of power to fly pattern manouvers. I moved the servos into the tail so I didnt have to add any weight to balance at the C of G. For fine tuning the balance within the range I simply move the battery pack.

Good luck you should have lots of fun with this model :D.

Cheers,

Colin

I have one with a .91 TT and it is perfect. It balanced with everything in a normal location and no weight. Great combo with plenty of power!
