My last venture in the world of Radio Controlled planes was in the early to mid 1980's. The last plane I had and flew was a model that was kitted by Wolfpack Models called the "Thrush". It was was a tail dragging .40 low wing aircraft. The wing span was 60". Lately, the urge to fly again is all over me. I'd love to built / own another Thrush, but can't seem to find the plane, the plans or even the company. I was wondering if anyone here knew of them, or the model, and maybe even know where I can find the plans. Anyway, thanks for reading!

Alas they are no more. The owner passed away and the company had been sold but production never resumed. I loved these planes as they were really fast and very aerobatic. Not to mention the prefabrication of the kits and the wood selection was outstanding. The only shortcomming was that the wing would fail if you really did fast violent aerobatics unless you glassed the center. had one do that with an OS40FSR powered one. The high wing version was the Shrike and this was also a real barn burner.:)

Doesn't that figure... Well, if anyone has plans, I could be interested.

I can see where the wing would fail, but I did glass the center, about 5" worth if I recall. Well, I do have video of my Thrush in action, guess that'll have to do. Any suggestions for a similar aircraft?

Keep your eyes on the swap web pages. sometimes you come across one. I had the Shrike and it was a very fast but forgiving flier. Good luck!

I have a Wolfpack Shrike with an O.S 28F

The plane is almost 20 years olds and in still rock solid.

Very aerobatic on those long thin wings. (strip airlerons are solid spruce.)

If I don 't crash it -it will probably last another 20

Yea.. I can't find another model like it. I had a Super Tigre .46 on mine. I wish whoever the company would offer the kit again. It was fun to build and more fun to fly. All I have now is an aging video tape.

UPDATE!!!! WooHoo.. I have one! And go figure.. It turns out that a guy at my own field (I've only been a member for a month) had one in his basement. I bought it from him, and have begun to recover it. I'll upload pics shortly, don't have digital camera, so have to use up the roll.

In the mail as we speak is a Super Tigre .51 I can't wait! I loved how this plane flys. Only some minor flaws to the airframe, and I'm addressing those. Should be ready to go by the weekend!

And these are the finished product. I've flown it, and man, it's fast!!! But flies very nice.
