Looking to build my first bipe. After one that is for an intermediate flyer. Like to set it up with a four stroke and if possible smoke

There's no way you can beat the Sig "Hog - Bipe". Laser cut parts - easy to build and align and flies very well with a .70 - .91 4 - stroke.

hog bipe! It was my first bipe. Flies great and agile. When you get the hang of it, Speed up the rates. I have a ys91 fz on mine. I can take off into a knife edge and climb out easy.
Great first bipe!

If you want a really good looking plane - build the PICA 1/6th or 1/5th scale WACO YMF-3. I fly the 1/5th with a Zenoah G-23. It has about 70 to 100 flights. I plan to build the 1/6th this winter for a OS or Saito 91. They are real crowd drawers.

I have a Hog Bipe waiting to be built. The kit was cheap and the design is straight forward. Basic r/c airplane details all around. You won't have to mess with a cowling, inverted engine mounting, etc. Of course, nice results can be had with a round cowling from Stan's.

I still have nostalgia for the CG Ultimate. I have never flown a plane that can go from mild to wild so easily and still look like a real airplane. I am going to build the Hog with no dihedral and a larger rudder to try and make it handle more like an Ultimate.

I vote for the Hog Bipe.

I too have a Hog Bipe waiting to be built. (working on a Tiger 60 right now). The fubar hill web site has alot of good info on the Hog, as well as good instructions for mods. if you want to do them. The one they really suggest is to use two aileron servos instead just one. I have a newer kit, and it came in the two servo version. Good luck Loren

I maidened mine a few weeks ago. I put a Saito .91 in the front with a basic Dubro smoke system. Other than a few hiccups getting the smoke to work right, the plane flies fantastic. You'll have confidence with it in no time

I made a bunch of mods after reading up on it at Fubar Hill . I also added pull-pull to the rudder (didn't have to but I wanted to try it).

The only additional mod I want to do now is to change the airleron joiner wires to 4-40 from 2-56.

Check out Fubar Hill and join the brotherhood of the Hog-Bipians :D

Yet another Hog Bipe recommendation. It's a straightforward kit, and they fly and land great. The advice on the dual aileron servos should by all means be heeded. Also the 4-40 wire...else you will quite likely experience severe flutter. It's really more of a necessity than an option in my opinion. Good luck!

I've never had a hog bipe, but from what I've heard, you can't go wrong with one.

Now as to the question of SMOKE, There I can help you!

Get the TME pump. Tower has it (as well as some others I would imagine) and for smoke oil, I use Ultrasmoke available at
http://www.aircapitalhobbies.com/ultsmk.htm

The Ultrasmoke is non-petroleum based, so it doesn't stink up your airplane/car/workshop, and it won't attack your covering. I'll attach a pic of my Skybolt with smoke. For more pics and videos, go to

A Smokin' Hog. That sounds like an excellent idea. Not much room in that fuse though. Any problems mounting the equipment?

Definitly, the Sig Hog Bipe is a great first bipe. Easy to build, easy to fly. I have a O.S. 91FS with 14x6 prop. I also have a cowl on it that fits great, but I forget what plane the cowl is from. I've had the plane for years.

I was thinking of making a cowl out of a 2-litre Pepsi bottle, and painting it with lexan paint. Has anybody tried this yet? Loren

Stan's Fiberglass sells a cowl designed for the Hog. I got one but haven't installed as yet (too anxious to fly :) )
