Is engine spacing on profile Fun-51 important?

Mounting engine on Fun-51 and there is supposed to be 3/32" between spinner backplate and nose of the fuselage. There is nearly 3/8". Is this ok on profile planes or do I need to start sanding? Thanks, Gene

I am thinking that you are just fine. It just means your spinner will be a little further out than shown on the plans which is not going to effect anything. Good Luck, Dave

Sanded for the 3/32" gap and got it. Good thing I did, it's nose heavy. The OS 46AX I'm using must be heavier than the Tower 40 the kit was designed for. I could try moving the engine back a 1/16" but I don't think it will be nearly enough. Well I guess I'll get started balancing the thing. Hopefully it won't take too much lead. The engine is even set back farther than the Tower engine would have been.
