Skybolt difference

What is the defference between the Skybolt and the Super Skybolt? Is it just the manufacture? Is it a size difference?

Thanks

I think the Skybolt was an open cockpit design, sometimes a seater. The Super Skybolt had more power and an enclosed cockpit

To my understanding, the Super Skybolt was a moniker given a full-scale Skybolt powered by the Lycoming IO-540 six-cylinder engine. The "normal" Skybolts are typically powered by a four cylinder IO-360.

A real Skybolt can be built as either an open-cockpit or with a bubble canopy. Neither option makes it "super".

There are also some differences in the structural and aesthetic design between those aircraft built to the older (pre-1970-something) plans, and the newer plans. Most noticeable are the differences in the elevator and hor. stab.

If I was to get a SIG Skybolt kit, would the GP Super Skybolt canopy fit on it?

I believe the SIG Skybolt is open cockpit.

Thanks

I'm not sure but I think the GP Skybolt is larger.

Don't think sig still make the skybolt, I have one that i started but was apprehensive about the soldering on the cabane strut so have not finished it ( my soldering skills), I will do though. Nice looking plane.

Every once in awhile you will see one on EBay. One was just sold recently for about $80
