Wings
1 Attachment(s)
Ok I am building a TopFlight Nobler as my 2nd kit and I just noticed something. After finishing the wings I noticed that I should have opened up the space where the ribs join the spars to get the proper fit. What I am wondering is should I join the wings as they are with the trailing edges not flat (with about 3\4 inch under each wing tip) or should I make a wedge for the root rib of 1\2 inch to make the trailing flat. See attached picture.

RE: Wings
there is only one way to correct your situation. cut each trailing rib loose at the rear of the center spar, recut the end square with bottom , add a tapered filler,if required and start glueing again. its all part of the building expereince. we all have made similar BOO-BOO's, am still screwing up, in a hurry at 80+ years young. dick

RE: Wings
Thanks for the info. How bad would it be if the trailing edges are slanted forward a little? The wing itself is flat and straight. It just that the flaps and alerons would take a little sanding to get a good fit.
