I got a Lanier Giant Stinger for Christmas and I can see that I'm running into some different things than I'm used to in building. For instance, what does one use to bore the hole through the wing outward to run the servo wire to the servo opening. I started on the fuse first instead of the wing until I get some foam knowledge. Thanks, Dave

Dave, I've had good luck using the Drywall cutting attachment for my Dremel tool for cutting slots and servo bays in foam wings. I found this attachment at Wal-mart. It has a spiral cutter and a adjustable fence for depth of cut.

Thanks

Thanks Greg, I just returned from WalMart, I bought some bar clamps to hold fuse parts together, when I'm back there I,ll check that out. It sounds much better than the slice and pry method with a hobby knife. Dave

Dave, I use a technique on all my giant scale foam wings that really makes a nice job of it. I use a long 3/8 bolt or rod that will reach well past the servo. I then heat the end with a small propane torch until it is cherry red. I have some blocks of wood on the bench to line the bolt up with the servo well and to keep the rod level as it goes into the foam. The foam will melt back to about a 5/8 to 3/4 inch hole and you will have a perfect tunnel for the servo lead to pass. You will not have any loose foam to deal with like you would if you drilled the tunnel. The foam melts and seals itself. This method works better than any other I have tried. James Goss

I use a piece of tubing, you can sharpen the leading edge of it and rotate it back and forth to drill a hole to your servo bay.
