Great Planes Old Timer?

Has any one built and flown this plane? I really like the looks of it. I have a GWS Beaver that I really like flying and the Old Timer looks pretty much like the Beaver. I also like the size of the Old Timer it looks like it would ge a great relaxing flyer. I think it would be a fun plane to put floats on for a little water fun, or skies for the winter. Any information you can give would be great. Thanks

don't have the Old Timer, but I can highly recommend the Sig Rascal. Also has that Old Timer look! it's available in three sizes now! the two larger ARFs have ailerons, which are great. you don't really need them, but they liven up the flight envelope.

The 40 size Sig Rascal was one of the finest ARFs I've assembled to date...

Thanks for the response swill. I have seen the Sig Rascal and like the looks of them but I would rather have a kit than an arf. I also like the looks of the Old Timer a little more. I am looking for a kit to build over winter. Does anyone have any experience with this kit? I know it is some what new but I'm sure someone has built and flown it.

I guess no one has built and flown this kit?, or what would be a better forum to try this question in. I would really like to know how this plane flies and the quality of the kit.

old timer

yea i just bought it, the tail fins seem to be rather involved, alot of laminating and bending, i love the looks of the wings. i think its great planes answer to the rascal 40. suckers at sig wont kit. its not lazer cut, but u cant have everythingits got alot of stringers and open bays, good for that transparent covering, like the rascal. im gonna go with a cream trans red i think

Old Timer

I was wondering if anyone has built and added
ailerons to this plane, and flown it yet.

I'm also looking at the Old Timer for a winter project. I was thinking about a Decathlon, but was advised against it, (too difficult to fly, especially if using an OS40LA).

I was put-off by the lack of ailerons on the Old Timer, but the polyhedral wing is intriguing. Might be a great plane to finally learn the proper technique for rudder turns.

It's a shame no one else seems to have any expreience with this model...

Maybe by spring we'll have more than one good story to tell here.
