Good looking static model

After I finished my 4*60 kit and later on slapped together a LT-40 I have a empty building board.
The dream to build a warbird is still there but it'll probably have to wait until autumn.

Now, my girlfriend is very interested in design and home decorating and tonight she suggested I should build a nice plane to hang from the ceiling !!!???!!!
She's seen a picture of a model in some decorating magazine and liked the idea.

What could I get?
Not too difficult to build, classic looks... Flight carachteristics and performance is not important since it'll have a fake engine and will be on static display.
(Sure, when we get tired of having it hanging from the ceiling I'll probably get permission to add it into my fleet, so it should be able to fly)

Help me out guys :)

Thanks for the input Minn, but I had something else in mind, something like an old timer or similair.
Perhaps the GP slowpoke dressed up in transparent covering?

( [&:] I'm also European and would go Spitfire/Messerschmidt before building stang's and Corsair's :) )

If you'd like something with "Classic Golden Era" looks, how about a Skybolt?

Or do you want to stick to a warbird?

The only choice ... a nude Jenny![8D]

Or, if you a bit "prude" she looks just as good dressed up.:D

My wife picked up a kit for me of Da Vinci's design for the same purpose.... I may build it .... after the Jenny.:D

i would suggest any plane in the bones and for the reason you can coordinate the wood with alot of the color tones in the room. a jenny would be a good choice. then when it comes time to fly it cover it and put engine and radio in and you are off.

You're exactly spot on.
My idea was a nice, old school design without covering so you could see the structure.

Carlosponti: Yeah, good point.
Here in Scandinavia we tend to decorate and furniture with lots of white and light colored wood.

Jim Mcintyre: Plesae, please tell me where to find that DaVinci kit? ...Or sell me your's asap :)

(Minnflyer, sorry if you got me wrong, I'm not looking for a warplane)

The Da Vinci kit was purchased at a great little store known as "the Museum store" that used to located in the Eaton Centre downtown Toronto ... I think it was a chain but, unfortunately it no longer exists ... replaced by yet another fashion store.

They had a beautiful 1/2 scale version hanging in the middle of the store, built by the original artist. If memory serves, the kit is 1/4 scale.

I'll try to dig out the kit tonight and see if there is any contact information inside and post here tomorrow....
