Pete Tindal's Smooth Operator?

A while ago I stumbled over a very dusty, dull, unmarked box in the back of our hobbie shop's store room. I opened it up to see whats been hiding in there all that time. I found the the cutest looking kit. Pre sheeted foam wings, turtle deck, fore deck, vertical and horizontal stabs plus it has airfoil shaped vertical and horizontal stabs. Apon closer studying of the kit I discovered that it was a 'Smooth Operator' by Pete Tindal, a streched and more stable version of his popular 'Spin Doctor', which is essentially a Cap 222. I immediately fell in love with this .60 to .90 size kit and started building.

It came together without difficulty with the exception of the part where I had to insert the only former in the fuz(the instructions seem to be a little different to the kit). I have completed most of it, all I still need to do is the covering and radio and engine installation. It took me about two weeks to get to this point, which is damn fast in my opinion... It looks so good, I can't wait to see it in the air.. Another nice thing - Pete used quite a strange method of wing location, the belly pan has a 5-ply triangular tongue that slots into a matching groove in the fuz.. Seems to be quite a good idea so far. The wing goes in quite easily..

Anyway I was just wondering if there was anyone else who has built and flown or is building one of these. I would like some comments on the kit.

I am planning on using a .91 ASP that I have lying around.
Comments??

There is a website for Pete Tindals models www.petetindal.co.uk

Pete often demonstrates his models at various shows in England.

I've just completed one of these kits, nice looking plane!, but ailerons and elevators are badly twisted and foam/veneer wings have many splits in the veneer. its a shame, like I say its a good looking plane.
