What Biplane Kit to choose?
I have just finished a kit and am looking for a Biplane kit. I like the look of the sport Biplanes. Any suggestions?

RE: What Biplane Kit to choose?
How about my ever favorite-Sig Smith Miniplane? It doesn't do many 3D manuvers, but it's still a kick in the pants. I discovered last monday that she does a great inverted flat spin!
I power mine with a Saito .56. If I build another one, I think I'd use the Saito .72 instead. Even with the 4stroke that's in her, she still needed weight in her nose. If she needs weight in the nose, I'd rather use the extra power too. It is a builder though. (A GP Super Skybolt would be a kick too!) |
RE: What Biplane Kit to choose?
It looks like a great plane but a :Dlittle out of my league. I fly and prefer electric. It looks great though. Thanks

RE: What Biplane Kit to choose?
Well MyPlane, since you didn't specify that you don't do glow in your first post, that would be most peoples assumption that you did. I was about ready to recommend the Sig Hog Bipe as a first bipe until I read your second post. Although with todays electrics, most glow powered plans can be converted to work with an electric motor.
If you told us what planes you HAVE flown, we might be able to make a better suggestion on what would be a good "next plane". |

CG Ultimate with a BIG Axi.:D

I AM SORRY TO BE AN INCONVIENECE TO YOU. I KNOW YOU PROBABLY ARE VERY BUSY AND DONT HAVE TIME TO WASTE REPLYING TO MY SECOND POST ONLY ENOUGH TO MAKE A FIRST SUGGESTION. Next time I will make it more specific so that I dont waste your time and make you read too much. I wish I could be as busy as you.
I fly for fun sorry if you take it more serious.Woops. You are so cool Woops. One day I hope i dont have time to read a little extra on an RC forum. |

RE: What Biplane Kit to choose?
I would have assumed you were talking glow planes as well, and your first post is pretty freekin vague. What's a sport biplane?

RE: What Biplane Kit to choose?
I dont know. I really dont know what I am talking about. I am just looking for a kit that I could build. Obviosly I don't know enough about RC just tryin' to build a plane. I want to build a Biplane that looks like the 300s but is a Biplane I want to make it electric powered. I want it made of balsa, laser cut, less than 2lbs, and when finished I want to covr it with monokote. Then when it is ready to fly I want it to be a four channel steady flyer.Something an intermediate flyer could handle. But in the end look and fly great. Any suggestions?

Take a look at this one: [link=http://www.aerolockmodels.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=19]Pitts M12[/link]
Here's another site's thread on it... [link=http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=274960] LINK[/link] |
RE: What Biplane Kit to choose?
HERR ENGINEERING also make A very nice PITTS kit with A 30 inch span. It's designed for glow but would make A great Epowered plane. I haven't been over to the House of Balsa site in A while but they are making there planes now for Epower too and may have something you would like and there kits are beyond great.
