Morris ' Gee whiz Bee
Hello; I have been working on this model, it is a profile fuselage with a thick wing. I have completed the building part, and am covering it now. I was surprised that when I weighed it, just wood, it weighed one pound. I will use a Saito 56, but I have some smaller four strokes available as well. I think I will mount the fuel tank externally with zip strips.
Any hints or tips? |
RE: Morris ' Gee whiz Bee
Hello,
I have a Gee Whiz Bee with a irvine 53 on it. Plane flies great, knife edge is awesome. I think you would need a larger engine on it like a saito 82, if you are going to do some serious hovering.:D |

A very nice flying plane. A guy in my club has one, I've seen it flown with everything from a Fox .40, to a ST-45. It did fly better with the larger of the two. It will fly fine with the Saito .56, but as Bodman said you would want a bigger engine for hover and other extreme flight. No major problems with this plane, and he has been flying it for several years now. The landing gear could be stronger Alum, it tends to pancake out if you have a "not so good" landing. :D Good luck.

RE: Morris ' Gee whiz Bee
Hi,
I have been flying the Gee Whiz Bee for a while using the MVVS .40 and could not get it to hover! Switched to the MVVS .49 after I lost the low speed needle valve but still cannot hover ! Will try using a 12 x 4 and see. Any ideas on changing the CG ? The model otherwise is great. |
