Which Extra Should I build???

This summer I said I would never build another kit. Well I lied to myself I guess. Winter's coming and I'm feeling the urge for a new kit guys! I know I want a 60 sized aerobat and the Extra is practically the only one with a variety that is out. I plan on using a YS 91FZ or a Saito 100 for power. The two kits I've came down to are the Great Planes Extra 300S 60 and the Carl Goldberg Extra 300. I've only built a few kits so I'm trying to stay clear of anything really complicated. I'd just like a nice easy build that will give me a superb aerobat with either of the above engines. Right now I like the shoulderwing design of the CG but the weight is kind of a killer and I've never heard anyone comment on the build. I've read Wreckrman's review of the GP Extra at www.********.net and am impressed with the construction but the finished plane isn't as slick looking as the CG. Decisions decisions....someone please help me!

OH! OH! OH!!!!!!

The GP!!!!!!!

Without a doubt!!!! With a YS91 this thing is SWEEEEETTTTTT!!!!!!

It is very light, It builds easier than most kits I've built, it's even easier than most GP kits (which IMHO are the best and easiest kits on the market). You will LOVE it!

The Goldberg is nice, but NO comparison!

my choice is the Carl Goldberg, with Saito 100. I have two, one has OS 120 FS with enlarged tail, handles like a trainer except it stays where you point it,great 3D plane ,the other is stock ,great plane not as good 3D,good imac style flier.

GP Extra 300S

I'm building the GP 300 S .60 right now. Almost finished the wings and getting ready to align everything with the fuse. Been really great so far. Looks strong and feels light. I'm putting a Saito 100, inverted with a Slimline pitts muffler, on the nose. Should be pretty good. Good luck.

I've built the Goldberg 300 and powered it with a OS 60 FX (2-stroke) and felt that the plane was really underpowered with that motor. I know that's what they call for in the plans, but I'm finding that the plans "ideal motor" usually turns out to be barely enough (IMHO). I don't know about the GP 300 so I can't comment on that one, but if you go with the Goldberg, put a bigger motor in it.

I have had them BOTH! And IMHO the GP is far superior.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I guess it's the GP Extra 300S, I even found a covering scheme for it that I REALLY like. Now I'm no Mike but I think his plane is GORGEOUS!
