I am currently working on a Kyosho Lockhead Martin jet. My friend bought it and he give up on it because of the directions and just the way that it goes together.
Let me tell you. The directions are terrible what little there are. It leaves alot to the imagination AND NOTHING FITS CORRECTLY=== lots of cutting and trying.

My little hands are almost too BIG to fit in the little openings. you have to be able to get into the fuse with your hands because you have to screw everything together on the inside. :eek:

If it wasnt for the 1' long drill bits and screw drivers I don't know if it would ever be completed. :confused:

How old is this kit? I just came from their site, and their is nothing with a name even simialr to what you're talking about.

It has to be there i havent been to their site but it is a new kit we just ordered it a month ago at the shop.

just finished a Kyosho Extra 300 that two other builders gave up on,landing gear was so far back that plane nosed over all the time,servos would not work by the prints,poor quality covering but after working through the bugs it has turned into a great flying plane,would I do it again? YOU BET!!

This is the new ducted fan jet that they call an arf. all that is done is the covered tail sections and the fiberglass fuselage. we have to trim, fit, trim, fit..... over and over to get the fan unit and motor in. The directions are terrible so you have to guess at a lot. out of a ten i would give it a 1!! Would I do it again... HELL NO. i will never buy one of these nor suggest it to anyone!

raistlin... It is on the home page of kyosho the f-16 ducted fan jet!! When you get the kit it has lockhead martin f-16 bla. bla. bla on the package.

Gotcha! I've looked at the EDF version several time, but, so far, good sense has prevailed. :D

scorpion, If you think it is a arf then you get it and see how long it takes you too "assemble it". So far i have around 14 hours in it.

its a kit with pre covered surfaces and a fiberglas fusalage. It would actually have been easier to put the fusalage together with the motor and fan unit installed in one half.. I believe a monkey could have written better directions

I saw that aircraft years ago when it first hit the market in Japan. I've seen it fly, thought it was cute for an ARF! But thats as far as it went.
Back about 20 years ago Byron's had a line of ducted fans. I had the F-16 a Freind had the Pitts. These had fiberglass fuses. We had to sheet the wings and stabs and install the bulkheads.

They were classified a kit: I classified them as 1/2 kits
Then there were real kits: Guillows, Sterling, Geiske, Cleveland, Topflight, Sig. etc:
Scratch: You design an aircraft and start cutting build it and fly it.
ARF or ARC: ARF: pre-constructed assembly required amount of time or difficulty doesn't matter. Covering installed painting may be required.
ARC: pre-constructed, covering and painting required, some assembly required.

i mean 14 hours of bs trying to figure out what hte hell the plans are saying and making modifications. Nothing fits good and steps are poorly planned and ordered.
