GP Trainer 60
I have started to expand out of CL stunt and build my first RC Traner. I have a GP Trainer 60 kit that some gave many years ago and fount it in the shop and want to build it. The kit seems to be intact minus the instructions. Does anyone have or know where i can find a copy of the building instructions..
Thanks.. |
RE: GP Trainer 60
This is an excellent airplane. It is an aerobatic trainer not a basic trainer. Use it as an intermediate plane. If you have an experienced flyer to help you and you put .46 or a .50 in it,
it will do. Do not try flying it with a .60 without help. Joe |
RE: GP Trainer 60
It IS a basic trainer. I have built many of the PT-40 and 60 kits for myself, and others over the years. what you will find is that GP seems to be useing denser wood lately and it makes the plane tail heavy. I have a OS 70 four stroke in one that I use to train people. I have cut litening holes in the rear fuse to take out some of the weight. Also if you want something that is more than a trainer use the wing spar connector that will give less dihedreal. (you have to cut it yourself) also be careful of the firewall area alot of people have a problem with it.( there is an alignment issue) if you cant find any plans let me know, I have a set I can send you. just PM me. Its a tough plane and can handle hard landings. good luck

RE: GP Trainer 60
The Trainer Sixty and the PT Trainer are two totally different designs.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the PT (primary trainer) has a flat bottom airfoil and is intended as a primary trainer. The Trainer Sixty has a symmetrical airfoil and is an intermediate trainer. |
RE: GP Trainer 60
Dear CL,...
I have a Tainer 60 new in the box which has the instructions in it. I could copy the instructions for you if you are interested. The Great Planes Tainer 60 and Trainer 40 were great airplanes!! Its to bad they stopped pruducing those kits. You've got a classic, you should have lots of fun with it. Good luck and let me know if I can help. Sincerely, Steve T. Monson, Massachusetts |
RE: GP Trainer 60
Why don't you just download the instructions for free, you will need Adobe reader. You can get the instructions here http://www.greatplanes.com/parts/index.html and/or here http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJ558&P=7
Enjoy |
