My First Kit - 4*60 - How tight for Pull Pull

In this photo, I do actually have the pull pull set up on the middle servo. I have never set up a Pull Pull and have not been exposed to that many at the club yet.

QUESTION - I have some servo noise (more of a slight hum). Is this caused by the cables being to tight?? How tight do you know is to tight in a pull pull?? Should you be able to push on the side and get some deflection like you'd get checking a fan belt in your car? Is there some rule of thumb on how to tighten the cables up?

Appreciate any help :D

If you flick the wire, you should hear a 'thud' and not a guitar-like 'twing'. If that isn't an exact science description then i don't know what is. ;) . A light hum may indicate too much tension, but you'll really know you've gone too far if the servo 'jitters' back and forth in any position.

You Know What - Thud I can understand.

Thanks for the help guys. :) With what you said I may have mine just a little bit to tight. After I get the covering on and actually get all of the hinges glued in place, I'll sit and do the all of the final adjustments.

Will be taking a little time off to go home (Wyoming) for the Holidays. So the plane won't get covered until after I get back after the first of the year. :(
