Well where do I start with this? It has been a on going build that my dad started when he bought the kit from me and i bought it back from him yesterday so I am restarting the build. The fuse was started and I am in the middle of finishing it up hopefully in the next day or 2? anyway some info about the kit....

I think the kit is a good kit with good well cut parts but building it is a different story and anyone that has build one of their Kits before knows the Ins. book comes in German...So I have had to do alot of guess work working off pics on the net and trying best as I can to translate German to English with babelfish.com. Though it has helped some I am still alot in the dark about how to do somethings on here becuase there is also NO paper plans to this kit as that is how they come. anyway any feedback is welcome and thoughts and ideas are also welcome.....

here is pics of how the kit comes to you/me next i will post pics of the fuse

Thanks Ben..

Well After 5 hours of sanding and fittment work I got the front sheeted lastnight. and I think it was well worth the work because it came out really good and will take very little work to get it finished/preped and covered. I also ended up changing the way the cabaions bolt to their holders. Rather then using the nuts that name with the kit i used 4-40 blind nuts with 4-40 Allen head bolts and washers. This is so I will have a easyer time bolting in the cabains after covering and if i should ever have to take them out? I also did this as the web site I am going off of the guy had holes in his sheeting to get to these bolts and I want/wanted a cleaner look then what he did. Over all I am very happy with the finished work I did...............pics to follow

Thanks John

Todays update.......

Well, I have gotten most of the fuse done now and am moving on to sheeting the last bit of the fuse up front. Lastnight and today I got the elevator stabs epoxyed on and set with - 2*(degress) built in. I also got the Canopy plate built and bolted in with 4-40 bolts and 4-40 blind nuts to hold the canopy in place. I also added a back piece to help glue the canopy down after finishing and will be also adding a floor deck and dash plate aswell...No thought yet as to if I will use a Pilot inside....more then likely it will be a half pilot. and a dash kit from Sig or someone else if I can find what I am looking for......I also got the engine box glued and glassed in lastnight though it took a bit of work and modding to get it to fit the way I wanted. I have NOT glued in the engine box firewall yet as Im still not sure what engine I will be going with ? I will keep everyone posted on witch one I go with but it will be a nice size Gas and nothing less. I should have the fuse done by sometime tonight if not mid day tomorrow, depending on how my date goes...lol :D Anyway I also will be changing the way the Elev. servos get bolted in...I think rather then having them inside the fuse I will have then outside and easyer to get to if needed....I am also looking into maybe using mini high tq. servos for this and mounting them inside the Elev. stab its self. I will know if I am going this route in a couple hours after a trip to our local hobby shop......pics to follow....enjoy

Todays Update..........

Well the fuse is about 97% done other then a few small things like finish sanding, mount a few servos like Elev servos rudder and Thro....I will be going with 2 hitech servos (slim thin wing) servos in the Elev stabs and I will be using 2 per side. at 42 oz tq PER servo so thats 84 total oz. perside. I will be starting the wings later tonight and getting those framed up this weekend and should have the plane in a ARC stage by weeks end.

I did get the fuel tank in and i went with a 24oz. du-bro set for gas. anyway heres update PICS and is this build sucking that bad that no one is replying ??????????[&o]

Awesone. I just finished a GP Ultimate 40 but i have not flown it yet. As soon as the weather warms up I'll get out. I'm Interested in watching this build. I would like to tackle a plane of this size soon, so your info would prove to be valuable to me.

p.s. How about a close up of that calander hangin in the background?:D

Thanks Ben you gotta come over and check it out[8D]

Mrbigg the specs are

Length - 2m/79 inches

RTF Weight -6.8kg/15lbs

And im looking at using a ZDZ 80 or Fuji 64 and or a DA 50.... but my choice is a ZDZ 80

Good looking airplane! You're doing an exceptional job on the build. It's looking like it's going to be an extremely light airplane for it's size.

RE: 31% Exclusiv Modellbau Ultimate 10-300S build w/pics

warbirdairracer, I really loved building the gp ultimate. It was actually my first build and looked intimidating, but everything went together straight and with very little sanding or carving to get parts to fit. I thought this might be a fluke, but when I set the wings and measured the incidence, it was all right on. The cowl is abs and would suggest a glass one from stans, and pitch the plastic wheel pants while you are at it. I restored some ones that I had from a "somethin extra" (rest in piece... or pieces) and they seem to fit very well. I made them quick detachable because we have a grass strip. I hope to fly it soon. The os70fs II still needs to be broke in, but minor details.
I'll let you know how it flies.
Tim

Thanks for the kind words everyone! this has been a sweet build for me and really has gotten me into the building mood again and look forward to the next kit.

New UPDATE for the week....

Well I all 4 wings done over the week and got the plane all put together and man does it look SWEEEEEEET! [8D].......anyway, I have a good day into each wing panel with fitment work and guess work on how i want/wanted to mount each wing.

Bottom wing(s) - On the bottom wing I built it like they said (or showed by pics) and used 1/4-20 blind nuts to bolt up to the fuse. like most ARFs these days. As I found to be most easyest and worrie free........And as always I will have pics on next my next post after I write my tech info out....I also changed how the outter wing struts as they had you use a bolt that went threw the wing with a round type blind but in the strut....I found this way to get weak over time and not be as strong as I wanted....So I went with the CG 60-1.20 Ultimate way and made a plate that the struts will bolt to with 4-40 bolts and blind nuts. Then after gluing each (w/CA) new strut plate in I fiberglassed each one in with HD glass and 30 min Epoxy. with a touch on rubbing Alcohol to thin out the epoxy. I also used 1/8" ply for wing strut plate/wing rib....any other questions please ask. ;)

Top Wing(s) - The top wings went together much of the same way as the bottom two with a few changes on how I mounted the top wings to each other.....I went ahead and drilled 2 (1 per wing half) holes in the wing tube and glued in 6-32 blind nut(s) on a 1/8" ply wood plate. (Side note - I believe this is how Aeroworks mounts their Ultimate wings also along with the H9 46% Ultimate.) So I figured this would work best for me aswell and it came out perfect and just how I wanted it.....along with the wing tube the kit also comes with 2 steel rods that slide into the top wings also to ad it with the wing tube. and they have brass sleaves that the steel rods slide into on each wing half of the top wing (bottom wing gets wooden rods) other then those 2 Idems they go together very will and ture...I almost forgot to add that I will be using Robart 310 hinges on the wings and Robart 308s on the Elev./rudder........again if anyone has any questions please ask! ;)

I will have full pics of the plane put together ASAP because my dad took his cam to Las Vegas with him and my mom so I can not take any pics at this time but will post what wing pics I do have as stated above......I will also take some pics of the top wing on how I mounted them.......

Thanks John
