Can you name this kit?
1 Attachment(s)
I hope you can cuz i m not sure at all. Part of a lot i picked up, i think its a 47D? have no clue of manufacturer. Maybe a SIG? GP perhaps, WS is about 63 inches, maybe a tad shorter. What say you?
Thanx Tim |
RE: Can you name this kit?
Looks like a P47D. GP made some kits like this back in the late 80's - early 90's.
How big is it. |
RE: Can you name this kit?
It is a P-47, not Sig. I don't know of any Sig models with fibreglass fuselages. I don't recall any P-47s from any manufacturer with a fibreglass fuse from the late 1980s early 1990s (this don't mean much). If you like WW2 warbirds, have at 'er. If you can't determine whom made the kit, it doesn't really matter as they likely are out of business, anyway. Sorry, I'm really not much help, am I! A little more describtion might help. Built-up or foam wings?

RE: Can you name this kit?
Could be a D&B Models kit. Looks like the Corsair & P-40 they put out. Not sure if they kitted a P-47.

foam wings with balsa planking, bottom already cut for retracts. can get some better pics of the whole thing here in a bit, gotta wait for that cam bat to charge. DAMN EVERYTHING USES a battery. im in the wrong industry.. lmao..... thanx for the posts, keep them coming. will get pix on in a hr or so. W8ey, the plane is a 60 i believe, ws is approx 61 inches, fuse is about 43 or so, no markings at all. no other stickers, what you see is what i got for this plane. im thinking of a 60 size engine, i think i have a very solid runnign enya 60 sitting in the box ready to blow smoke. thoughts?

RE: Can you name this kit?
OK..my guess is that it can be a IMP airplane. IMP stands for Innovative Model Products. Originally out of NY they built planes with fiberglass fuselages and foam core wings back in the 70's and 80's. I recently picked up 2 of their P-51 D Mustangs that have the fiberglass bodies. IMP moved to Florida but still maintain a website. They do not make the fiberglass & foam wing core kits anymore!I have their website at home if anyone is interested in having it. Just email me at [email protected]. The guys helped me out on my P-51s. I needed plans and they were able to get them as well as an instruction booklet for working with foam core wings.
