Good Kit to "bash" into a twin

I want to build a practice twin before completing my P-38. I haven't seen any except the TWIN STAR and that's ARF. I want to be able to make various wings with the engines spaced at different widths to get used to the idiosyncracies of a twin again.(have had two but that was a while ago) I was looking at a Kaos or a Super Sportster as possible candidates for the 'surgery'. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have an excellent project plane theat would serve you well.

G/P Ulta Sport 1000, which is the big one, similar to a large Kaos. Already converted to a twin. Never finished. I saw one of these fly and it flew well. 2] 60's or more... Needs finish sanding and covering.

$125.00 plus shipping.

"twin bashing"

There was a guy at our field that had a Sig Kadet Senior that he had made into a twin. It was a total blast to fly. He had added alerons and flaps, flattened out the wing. It was such a blast to fly, would even slow fly very well. Cubfan

Thanks for the advice. I am looking into something I could stick two 40s on, since that's what I have at the moment. The Kadet Senior sounds interesting but I wonder how that worked with the flat wing?

I wonder which would be better, a thin or thick wing cord? High or low wing?

I would think one with a big wide wing would be a better candidate. Possibly a low winger with a flat center section, or a flat high winger (no dihedral) would make mounting engine nocelles easier.

OV10 arf might be a good choice. There is a thread on this in the ARF section.

RCM sold plans to convert a Super Sportster to 2-40s a few years ago. They may still sell them. I did one with retracts, flaps and two OS 45s. Flew great.

I've often thought about converting a Top-Flite Contender to a twin. If you ask me, a thicker wing is better, more room for fuel tanks and throttle servos. It would fly great with two .40's.

Definitely an ugly stick would work...

I have converted the Super Kaos. Added about a foot to the center section span and had two .46"s. Fantastic airplane. Have also done the ancient Midwest Strikemaster with two 35's and turned a Direct Connection Sea Fury into a Russian dive bomber with two .52 four strokes. All flew very well. Sold the twin Kaos. Here is photo of Kaos and "Sea Fury" flying together

I have a Kaos 60 that I converted. It looks great.

Where were you with the add 3 foot section then? hahaha Just kidding. I wish I had thought of that.
