Solder help?

Ive done some searches and cant find what I need,
Im ready to solder my landing gear wire on the Cub.
Ive now bought every torch, iron and tool I can think of to help get a nice finished product.
Ive tried solid core solder and silver solder, which is what Ive always used for controll rods ect. and fluxed the heck out of it and still cant get my solder flowing. Ive definately got the heat.
What do you think?

Solder help?

Hi Flap, sand the rod ends first to remove all oxides. Then nicely wind pre-tinned copper wire (SWG35 or 0.0084" diam) around the joint. Here I use a knot that keeps both wire ends nicely tucked in and helps to clamp the rod ends. Apply a couple of drops of silver brite flux around the joint. Use a 60W iron, and fill the joint with solder. I use silver-tin solder (silver brite) for better fatigue strength. Good luck..........

Most welcomed Flap. Sorry I am not familiar with any graphics software. Otherwise I could have made it clearer.......

Also make sure that you tin the end of the iron. A little wet solder on the tip makes the heat transfer better.
