Sig 4 Star 40
1 Attachment(s)
Hi guys/Gals just wanted to show a pic of one of the planes that will be given away this upcoming year as a door prize at our first annual fun fly .The tires & wheel pants are coming still .This should make someone a nice little flyer I have seen a few fly and they don't seem to have any bad habits . I also replaced the nyrod with solid steel control wires and added a few more hinges and a different tail wheel set up. Other than that is was a very easy and straight forward kit to build.
I did have some concerns about the flex in the wing and wondered if I should add leading edge sheeting ,but decided not to and after I got the covering on it, its fine. |
RE: Sig 4 Star 40
Great build!
Maybe I should consider going:D |
RE: Sig 4 Star 40
Looks great!!
Good move on upgrading to solid pushrods, I used 4-40's on my 4*60. Used nyrods on my 4*40 many moons ago, elevator trim was a bummer with nyrods, that was the last time I used them, and that was about 14 years ago. Pete |

RE: Sig 4 Star 40
Thanks guys for the feedback .The kits all laser cut and parts fit well.
Total time was less than a week building & covering this plane ,its highly recommended for anyone that just starting out .Or someone that just wants a easy put together kit for a change . My only warning is the wing ,when shrinking the covering make sure you pull it a little from each side so as to not pull a twist in it .But thats standard practice for most of us Kit builders anyway. Next on the board is the Sig Something extra. Will post pics when its finished. |
