Pull Pull controls??
I need help as I am going to install my first set of pull/pull controls.
I don't know the first thing about it other than what I can see in pictures. Any info appreciated. They are going in the Balsa USA Eindecker 90. |
RE: Pull Pull controls??
Here's a start on the geometry.
http://www.swbmfg.com/rudex.html Sullivan, DuBro and Great Planes all market a 4-40 size pull-pull rigs that would work well in the Eindecker. I have been gearing up for one on another model and decided to fashion a central bell-crank at the rear of the servo tray and move the bellcrank with the servo. That way I can make servo adjustments while leaving the pull-pull connections tensioned. Ball bearing rod ends eliminate as much of the slop as possible, but the following cable can be relatively loose; as the pulling cable is the only tensioned one. Ideally, the opposite cable should be snug but not tight. |
RE: Pull Pull controls??
The first thing with Pull-Pull geometry is to make sure you have as close to a perfect rectangle arrangement with the servo end being one end of the rectangle and the control horn end as the other. Space the end of the lines equal distant out from the pivot point at each end. If you want to cross the lines that's OK.
