Eaglet 50 Question?
Hello everyone, I have a goldberg eaglet that I built 5-10 years ago. I tried something different when I built the kit and I took out all the dihedral in the wings. Plane has flown like crap ever since. I am going to cut the wing in half and add some dihedral, but I don't have my plans anymore and I really don't know how much to put in it. Oh yea, I built it for 4 channels. any help would be appreciated thanks, Jag215

RE: Eaglet 50 Question?
I built one of these many moons ago. Nice little plane. Mine flew quite well.
I still have it buried in the basement somewhere. The plans show 1.5 inches of dihedral per panel. 3 inches total. Thats for the aileron wing. For the non-aileron wing (rudder control) it shows 2.5 inches per panel. 5 inches total. I actually built two wings for mine. I built the aileron version and then thought I might be better off with rudder and got some balsa and built a non-aileron wing. It flies equally well either way. This was circa 1985. I do remember it was not very tolerant of wind but that it did fly quite well. Mike Hammer |
RE: Eaglet 50 Question?
I was just looking at the wing. It looks like I could be making a big mess by cutting it in half to try and add the dihedral. I am considering just buying a wing kit from Goldberg for $35. jag215
