That is a very nice looking Cessna. I fly a full scale 172 on pipeline patrol that looks almost identical to your model. Been thinking of getting one of the Topflite Skylane kits and building it up like my pipeline bird. I noticed you are going to change out the Saito .91 for the OS .120. Have you done this yet? The OS should make this bird a strong performer!

Hi Lowlevldevl.
Yes, I have already changed the engine because it needed a lot lead (1 pound) in the fron to balance the plane with the Saito. Also my plane is 13 lbs and with so much work in it I was affraid to have problems with power, so as the OS is almost twice the weight of Saito I wonīt need to put so much lead at the front and it has more than sufficient power for sure.

I donīt want this plane to be a great performer, just to fly it scale but to have sufficient power in danger situations, if I need it. I think I will fly it at less then half throttle all the time, so it wonīt overheat inside the cowl and the fuel can last so much time as with the Saito, I think!!!
Do you think I made wrong?

Thanks again for your oppinion.

I think you made a good choice changing out the engine. I really like the Saito engines, but in your plane I believe the OS will be the better choice. That chunk of lead was quite a bit of weight to have to tack on.

Other than a weight issue, I was hoping my Saito 100 will fly this OK, with the 4 stroke sound. I see Tower sells headers for 2 strokers, but not for 4 strokers. Will the Saito exhaust make me cut an ugly hole in the cowl? Please advise.

Thanks, Randy

First I had my Saito installed with his muffler and I made an exhust root to place it at the bottom of the cowl and it was very good.
You can see this in my photos.

Thanks, Daniel Maia.
