GP Cap-232 almost finished
 

I'm still waiting for the fiberglass cowl and wheel pants to arrive but I had to post a couple pictures anyway. I've never tried to do a covering scheme similar to the one on the box because I usually think they look goofy. I liked this one though so mine is similar. The engine is an OS .46-AX. I started it for the first time tonight and it ran perfect right out of the box. I'll probably maiden it without the cowl this weekend.

I'm already in the middle of my next project, a profile Hots fun-fly from the plans in Model Airplane News. I must be addicted to this or something. I would have it pretty much ready for covering but the LHS is out of 3/32" balsa sheet.

Nice looking Cap. Lots of work there. I see your shear webs in the Hots wing. You do it like me - comletely fill the bay with balsa. Light, yet strong. In fact, I use 1/16 in balsa for shear webs - even in an 80" wing.

I maidened the Cap today. This is one great airplane. It needed a little aileron trim but that was it. The takeoff roll is nice and straight, flight is smooth and stable and landings are a piece of cake. The plane is plenty maneuverable too. I almost put a .60 in it but I'm glad I didn't, the .46-AX is perfect. Once my fiberglass cowl arrives, I'll get it mounted and have a fun little plane. From the way it builds to the way it flies, I definitely recomend this kit.
