Dynaflite Spitfire

Does anyone know of a supplier for Dynaflite Spitfire canopies?

Your best bet would be email Dynaflite Customer Support. They may have a few left over after discontinuing the kit, but it will be pricy! See: http://www.dynaflite.com/faq/service-faq.html#q1

I think fiberglass (www.fiberglassspecialties.com) specialties has them and if I remember they were about $25.

A Company in Brazil called [link=http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=pt&u=http://jetfibra.com/&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=1&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Djetfibra%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG]Jetfibra[/link] used to make a replacement canopy for the 81". It's not on their list now, but if you email them they may still have 1 or 2.

I had a similar problem. My solution was to borrow one from a friends old Pica kit, fill it with plaster of paris to form a plug, and then we had several produced on a homemade vacuum former.

Unfortunately I gave the plug away some months later when moving house. The Spitfire still exists. I found the basic Dynaflite design is a pleasure to fly, but does it ever cry out for some 'bashing'.

I had three good flights with mine today. Mine has Century Jet retracts installed operated with a Robart valve and tank. I was gratified to note that over the whole day the tank pressure never sank below 80 PSI even when not used. This model and all its systems must be well over four years old by now.
