LT-40 Question
 

I am currently building the fuselage and the instructions call for gluing the formers to the fuselage halves with medium CA. Has anyone had any problems with this? It seems to me that CA would not provide the strength needed, nor has it been my experience that CA is a good choice for gluing plywood. Would appreciate any suggestions.

I built my first LT just as the plans wanted and it flies great.I was dumped pretty hard to the ground on a couple of dead sticks and only needed minor rerpairs and was up again.very strong plane that can take some rough treatment.I liked it so much I am building another one with some mods to it.

CA ALL THE WAY! Hey that rhymes ! Use epoxy in high stress areas(fire wall, dihedral braces & landing gear blocks) Very good choice for a trainer & all around fun plane !!>>big max 1935>>

Ahh, the Lt-40. My trainer. I love the LT-40. I have had club members say that I should sell it, because I'm beyond a trainer plane now, but I can't part with it. It's sentimental. Just finished a set of skis for it yesterday, and started cutting foam cores for floats - my own design. I would imagine that someday I will add bombay doors, or stick a bigger engine it for glider towing, or hovering practice.

You can't go wrong with an LT-40. Best trainer by a long shot IMO.

Hover the LT-40? Done it with one of my student's planes and I have witnesses. Lt-40 with TT 46 Pro turining an 11 x 6 MA prop. The plane is so light and controlable that it is easy.

I built mine acording to the plans !! By the book word for word LOL . and its been nothing short of solid !! Love my good old SIG LT-40

Triangle stock is light and easy to glue in if you want to beef it up.
