I just ordered the 90 size kit yesterday and am wondering if any of you fellows have built this kit.

One thing I am wondering about is the setup at the field. They say to just plug in the servo's and bolt the wing on, but what about the rigging wires ???

It is so far from scale why worry with the wires! They have the landing gear too far back, axle should be right under leading edge. The wing mounting block broke on mine first flight,make a new one out of REAL plywood ,with 1/8" plywood on both end . Also move it down about a 1/4". Put top & bottom sheeting at 45 degree angle on fuse ,much stronger. Have been flying mine 5 years with a G-23 on it, don`t know how they will be able to balance it with a 91 glow engine, must own a lead mine! Put a tail wheel on it! Good flier , does all WWI maneuvers with grace.

Thanks for all the good info big max, all I can get will be greatly appreciated.

Based on your experience I will be reconsidering the Saito 91, makes sense with the long fuse and short nose. Guess I'll be in the market for a G23 :)

A buddy of mine and I have had both sizes. His small one flew fine, but the rolls were flaky, not axial. I know that's asking a lot from a WW I scale. We had an OS .52 in it.

After flying his extensively, I bought the larger size. Since the original didn't have ailerons, I decided to move mine in one rib. This gave me a one-piece tip. Seemed to like this better than the stock version.

We had his OS 1.08 in my plane with a 16-6 prop. Never did use ful power very much, but we didn't need weight to balance. For fuel, I used two 8 ounce tanks plumbed together. I think they were Hayes, but they were taller than the width. They are short enough to fit in the front.

We used round, black elastic for the guy wires. Hooked them up after installing the wing.
