I have a Sullivan tail wheel gear and I would like to find out what is the best way to fix the spring to the rudder. Could someone kindly give me an idea how to do it, with a pic if possible ? Thanks !

What if the hole provided is glogged with solder and not aligned with the wheel assy?
can that be corrected without messing up the plastic mount?

You could try wrapping the plastic and the wire with a wet rag while heating it, so that the heat can't travel down the wire to the plastic.

I will give that a try tonight after work.....
I also have a dubro assy to use if I mess it up, but I try not to throw 7 bucks away here and there.

ecajberry:

You also could merely drill it out.

If it was aligned right thats what I would do, but its not.
Or are you suggesting to drill a new hole in the right spot?

Ed:

Much easier to drill through the solder and bend the end of the spring to adjust the wheel tracking.

And since you bend the spring to adjust wheel centering anyway, I think that would be much better than drilling a complete new hole.

Bill.

Well after looking over Minn's graphic cloeser (thanks Minn) I realized that my eyes really do suck in my old age. Everything is good with my assy, and I got it installed last night. Have the fuse covered minus some form of trim, but coming along great.
Thanks for all the input guys.
A picture really is worth a thousand words.
