Sullivan tail gear spring
I have a Sullivan tail wheel gear and I would like to find out what is the best way to fix the spring to the rudder. Could someone kindly give me an idea how to do it, with a pic if possible ? Thanks !

What if the hole provided is glogged with solder and not aligned with the wheel assy?
can that be corrected without messing up the plastic mount? |

You could try wrapping the plastic and the wire with a wet rag while heating it, so that the heat can't travel down the wire to the plastic.

I will give that a try tonight after work.....
I also have a dubro assy to use if I mess it up, but I try not to throw 7 bucks away here and there. |

You also could merely drill it out. Bill. |

If it was aligned right thats what I would do, but its not.
Or are you suggesting to drill a new hole in the right spot? |

Ed:
Much easier to drill through the solder and bend the end of the spring to adjust the wheel tracking. And since you bend the spring to adjust wheel centering anyway, I think that would be much better than drilling a complete new hole. Bill. |

Exactly.

Well after looking over Minn's graphic cloeser (thanks Minn) I realized that my eyes really do suck in my old age. Everything is good with my assy, and I got it installed last night. Have the fuse covered minus some form of trim, but coming along great.
Thanks for all the input guys. A picture really is worth a thousand words. |
