4*120 kit bash

Hello all, Ive been lurking and reading. I'm new to RCU but not to new to the hobby, anyway...I'm getting ready to start a 4*120 with Ryobi 31 for power. Ive read the build thread by rcpilet and other comments but can't seem to find info a good fit for a cowl. I think I'll set the firewall back enough to allow the prop to be where it should be and saw off the cheeks, but would like to cowl in the engine. Anyone found a good fit on a Fiberglass cowl?

Fiberglass Specialties lmakes a cowl and wheel pants for the 4* line. It's a good looking cowl from what I've seen of it. I have one of their cowls on a GP Super Aeromaster and it is well built and took very little work to finish it for painting.

I did one with balsa block for my 4 Star 60. It wasn't that hard, and gave me exactly the shape I wanted. You can see photos on my thread about doing the plane in silk and dope. It shows some other mods too. See recent posts.

I'm really pleased with the plane. I've never seen the 120, but I'm sure it will be majestic in the air.

I carved a plug from balsa blocks for my 4 * 40. I made a mold and then pulled a part. I went this route to learn more about making fiberglass parts.
