Advice for first kit?

I have built a few ARFs and I love them all. However as a side project I want to try out a kit.
I picked up a Herr P51 and would like to know any tips, tricks, or advice you all may have for me before I get started.

Azizza:

Good kit, good airplane, good manufacturer.

The only possible bad thing is it is also a small airplane. I would have suggested something in the 40-46 range.

Have a good time with it.

Bill.

Well I wanted something small.
I had an .061 Engine setting around along with 4 micro servos and a micro reciever. This seemed a perfect match for them.

:D

Well, you got it.

The disadvantage is being sensitive in flight, almost to the point of being twitchy if not set up just right.

Other than that, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Be careful with the CG, and limit your control throws.

Bill.

You picked a laser cut kit. I just finished my H.O.B. Spacewalker and I'm sold on laser cutting. Some of the older fellows bark at these because they say it is too easy. Well I don't have the time to built a box of sticks anymore. I hear that Herr kits are excellent. I can't praise the H.O.B. kit enough. The instructions are in color. My next project is Pica's new 1/12 P-5D all laser cut kit.

If I were you, stick to laser cutting. My Sig Smith Miniplane (a.k.a. box of sticks) keeps getting pushed back. The Spacewalker was framed up in approx. 6 hours. L.O.L.
