Dazzler kit modification

1 Attachment(s)
Hey,
I want to show off my new Great Planes Dazzler. It was an easy kit to build and I could not resist making some modifications. The idea I was going for was to create the look of a 1920's era cartoon plane. Don't know if I made it their... but it is close.
The plane is a great fun, easy to build and fly. It is powered by an old OS40 la. Plenty of power for this application. I love the fact that I can take it to the field, put fuel in it and fly. No assembly required.
I would love to see how others may have modified simple kits............ and if you have any feedback on my Dazzler feel free to share.

That is a great looking Dazzler. You need a cartoon pilot. Snoopy would look great.

Hi Friend,

Congratulations for you dazzler, it looks fantastic!!

I also bought a dazzler kit and some extra wood to modify it for a better 3D performace.

I'll use a saito .56 gk four strokes engine.

I'm just starting to build it, if you are interest, I can send some pictures.

Maybe another guys have done the same and can send their pictures too.

Regards!

Can't see anything else I would do to it, looks pretty good to me. I flew the Up-Roars but I built the Dazzler for a friend to compete in fun flys with, great plane and does it all. On his I used the OS .46 LA and didn't mount it inverted but more like a 45 degree angle then built a cowl around the engine. I left the tail feathers alone because I kinda liked the look. I like what you did with yours though, sort of a Super Sportster look. The red and white look great together too!! I always liked the looks of the Dazzler better then the Up-Roar but I was killing so many fun fly planes I was scratch building the Up-Roars a lot, it's an even easier kit to build! The wheel pants you used gave it a nice touch too!!
