and win a Bronx cheer for being an expert of the obscure.
It's a scale model of a full size design that never got built or at least never completed and flown. Mike Bogh can't play because I told him what I was building when he gave me some good advice on my Razzle. |

Sure looks like the 'Deweyville special' that was kitted by Orline.

Art's right
Yes, it's the Deweyville Special and I built it from an old Orline kit I bought back in the 70s I think. I bought it because I thought the lines were real classy. I finally got around to building it. Art says it wasn't patterned after any plane. Quote from Orline's Instructions "The Deweyville Special is not a scale plane. It existed only in the minds of a few good old boys in Deweyville , Oregon. It has been redesigned as a radio controlled model by Orline R/C Aircraft Mfgs". Now I know that doesn't say much but one could read into that, that it made it to at least the back of a bar napkin. Lots of good flying designs started that way. I stated that parts may have been built because I was told that many years ago, maybe by the same guys who started the Oregon Big Foot legend. Denis |
