Decathlon / Prop Size??
 

I'm getting close to finnishing me Dynaflte Super Decathlon. I started it 2 weeks ago. So I'm pretty happy with how fast I'm progressing with the build. I don't know very much about Props. I'm using a Super Tigre G2300. http://www.supertigre.com/engines/supg0248.html

Super Tigre Recommend a 18x8 or 18x10 Prop.

Is that going to be to large or will one of those work fine?
Any suggestions on that Prop Pitch to use as well?
The only thing that I do know for sure is that I want to use a wooden prop. I just like the look of wooden props better them plastic.

And for a aircraft this size would it be better to use a Pull - Pull Set-up on the Rudder, instead of a Push - Pull that it shows on the plans?

If ST recommends the 18X8 and 18X10, then that will be fine unless you don't have the ground clearance. Wood props are usually lighter than plastic, but they also break at even the slightest ground strike.

And yes, go with a pull-pull. I use them on all my planes, down to 40 size.

An 18" prop should work on the Dynaflite (ground clearance) but it will be fairly close. I had a Pilot Decathlon, just a tad bigger than the Dynaflite, and I used an 18, it was about right on that plane, but shorter than scale for the plane (1/4). If you want scale, the full-size uses a 74" prop.
