I don't know about the rest of you, but when something goes this far it gets a bit redundant...so why bother?

Let's try to keep things on a simple, to the facts situation...that MIGHT keep the post count down on some of these threads.

When a post reaches 100, that means people are interested in it. I am dealing with one in another forum that has well over 400 posts and 13,000 views.

That just means it is popular.

I can appreciate interest...but who wants to stumble through all of those replies to see what's going on. More than likely if it is that 'long-winded' it doesn't amount to much in the first place.

If you watch most of the posts are repetition, or people chatting with each other. It happens all the time. Give us something to do!

i'm in the Capiche thread, i'd admit, if you just found it it would have pages of rambilings, but most in it have been since the start so we know where were at.
the ones that annoy me right now are these damn add 5 words. Its pushing the limits of RC related, but hey its in the humor, and if you got the time fair enough, i aint bothering.
Maybe a chat feture may solve this

I see your point. Some threads get off to a good start then you get some "chatter" that sometimes is helpful sometimes not. Last years Taurus vs the world debate was fun and informative. This thread will be light and fun kind of like Dessert :D Have fun, Pete

My pet peeve is threads that are active for awhile until everything is said, and then 4 months later, somebody adds a new post, bringing the whole thing to the top of the list again. I've asked Marc if he could add the starting date of the thread to the home page, but it's difficult. I am not particularly interested in the past!

I never said this was a rational thing! It's just a pet peeve. I agree it indicates use of the search, which is good, but they must not have found the answer they were looking for. Alright! I agree, my position doesn't make sense! It's probably better to add to an existing thread, no matter how old, then start a new one. Just don't expect me to review all those old posts!

Personally, I love the ones where someone asks:

"Is the "whatever" a good plane to start with?"

And then there are several replies; pros, cons etc.

Then the original poster will say:

"Ok, I got the LT-40 (or whatever). I'm gonna start it this weekend."

Then, 6 months later, someone digs up the thread and says something like:

Don't get the LT-40, I learned on the (whatever) And it's the best for all these reasons:.....

And then he goes on to tell why this plane is better AFTER the original poster has probably moved on to his second plane!

Those are funny mike, but if you want a laugh, look on the heli beginners forum. There is a kid that has been asking the same questions for weeks now. He also posts more polls than anyone should be allowed. He emails and PMs many members over and over. I finally had to ask him to quit emailing me.

It was getting really old, but now it is getting rather funny because some of the guys are getting sick of him and some of the comments are quite funny. If he doesn't get the answer he wants, he asks the question again in different words.

Its getting quite commical.

i think we need to convince these guys to get the planes they want, then arrange a place to fly, we turn up in bullet proof glass domes armed with video cameras, here in the UK you'll get 250 quid for a good crash :D

what i hate is when i subscribe to a post and wait for a reply...and then i get an email to say theres a reply....and when i go look, someone has said something like

"hey barney/mike/pete/joe i saw your dad the other dad at the field"...and someone replies...."yes hes there this week, but he had a veruka last week so he couldn't fly"

...And then you have the post hijackers.....who innocently contribute to a post..and then suddenly hijack it!!

...And of course don't forget the family posters!!!!......OK WE KNOW YOU HAVE WIVES!!!!

Personally... My favorite is...
The post where someone asks a question. Another guy answers the question, to the point I might add. Then, 20 other guys answer the question with mildly different wording. If you see that the question has been answered, why continue to post answers that have already been given?
