The SuperSkybolt FLEW!

Hi:
I FINALLY had the oppurtunity to fly the Skybolt today in between rain showers.
Some left rudder and up elevator trim for level, straight flight.
A fellow member of the club I fly with was there for support and trimmed the craft once I had it airborn.
I also let him fly and land it.
My knees where a knockin the whole flight.
Thank you all for your support.
Tom

Congratulations on your maiden flight! Plane looks good. What engine and prop are you using? Do you know the finished weight? Lands fast, doesn't it? Love mine. It's a real attention getter, looks great on the ground, but looks even better in the air!

Thanks Devo:
I'm running an OS1.08 with a 15x8 prop. The finished weight is 9lb11oz after adding 8 oz nose wt. to balance.
The skybolt came in fast but settled in on all three wheels.
Chopped the throttle once I was certain to make the strip.
I also had the idle a little high, so had to point the nose up to slow it down right before touch down.
I'm very happy with it's flight characteristics and hope to try more maneuverrs as i become more accustomed to flyiing this bipe.
I only had the one flight due to it raining here in NJ almost daily.

It's amazing what a good flying, aerobatic biplane can do to a man. They start out totally convinced that the end all of sport aerobatics is solidly fixed in monowing aircraft. Then they fly a bipe,... and the rest is history.:D

Congratulations on your maiden flight. The Skybolt will always land fast, but it only takes a little getting used to. I hope you get to enjoy her for a long, long time.

I think is fair to say that it lands like a bipeplane, I have not see a Pitts do a slow landing.
